Have you ever been to an Indian restaurant and wondered how they make flatbreads like naan, roti, dosa, uttapam, or even puri so fluffy?
Does the aroma from freshly ground spices excite you? Then you and I agree that Indian cuisine is really yummy and you can't get enough and want to learn more about it.
Indian Khana Made Easy is a blog about Indian cooking, especially about the dishes my sister and I grew up with and dishes my mother improvised over the years. Combined with her experience and what she picked up from the American "semi homemade" cooking shows, she made cooking our favorites easy and fun to learn.
I created this online recipe portal with my mother's guidance. This accessible guide helps me feel less helpless in situations like "what will I make for lunch" or " oh, no, I ran out of fresh vegetables, what can I make with salsa and dry lentils".
I grew up on a vegetarian diet so all the recipes in this blog are Vegetarian. They can be modified to include meat if preferred. The dishes range from simple to moderate level and many of them are Gluten Free.
As you browse through this blog, you will not only learn to cook Indian food, but also experiment with various spices, herbs, lentils and flours. If you are just starting out, we also have product reviews for semi-homemade recipes.
Don't forget to check out our restaurant reviews. Over the years, we've dined in many places to see how they compare. Hey! We all need a break from cooking every once in a while.
